The Power Of One – Marilyn Nathanson – never let it be said that one person can’t make a difference. When you are feeling overwhelmed with all that is wrong with the world – then it’s time to think about what “you” can do to make a difference – and we can all help in or own unique way.

Marilyn Nathanson has travelled to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. Here she is with one of her beloved adopted orphans – precious Tano!

Her book is called Images of Africa. The book description says: “this book is a photo journal of photos and videos taken during trips to South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania. It also includes a lot of information I learned about the people and animals of Africa. It’s main purpose, however, is to educate readers to be aware of the devastating crisis faced by elephants today and of the work being done by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (www.dswt.org).

 

One elephant is being killed by poachers every 15 minutes. The elephants need our voice! Time is running out. It’s in our hands! All the profits of this book are going to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. As their website (www.dswt.org) states the Trust is “today the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world and one of the pioneering conservation organizations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa.”

 

We can all do our part and I applaud Marilyn for what she has done. Just think if “everyone” stood up and did “something” – the world would be a better place!
