Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – February 9, 2004 – A good pen makes writing an enjoyable exercise. Over the years I’ve had a number of favourite pens. Not necessarily expensive pens like a Montblanc, but regular run-of-the-mill pens, easily purchased at an office supply store.

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – February 8, 2004 – I have loved animals since childhood. My earliest memory of having my ‘very own’ pet was a kitten named Mickey. I was three years old to Mickey’s 2 months. We should have grown up together, but it wasn’t to be.

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – February 7, 2004 – I’m not sure if this saying is attributed to a famous person or if it has simply become an accepted maxim because it has the ring of truth – similar to an urban legend. But it’s thought-provoking and I like it – “The stronger the wind – the stronger the tree”.

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – February 6, 2004 – I had such amazing intentions this year, to manage my work life with my clients so I would be assisting them to the best of my ability, while still feeling that I had time for myself. It’s only the first week of February and I’m thinking ‘lethal thoughts’ – really, really lethal thoughts. Thoughts with weapons!

Once Again The Elite Amongst Us Celebrate Themselves – The Sochi Olympics will cost over $51 Billion dollars and are designed to glorify the ego of one man – Vladimir Putin! As we prepare to “celebrate” ourselves as a global community at the Sochi Olympics – I wonder how many of us will ever think about the significance of this self-adulation and see the irony in a world with “haves” and “have nots”.
