Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – May 2, 2004 – I have a square, silver dish sitting on the coffee table in my den. Some old black and white photographs are stacked in it as part of the room’s decor. I haven’t bothered to look at them in ages, but today for some unknown reason I picked them up and sifted through them.

Relaxation

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – April 30, 2004 – Just the word “relax” makes me tense. Could it be that I’m just a little over-wrought? Perhaps so. Today is one of those days when I’d like to tear out my hair. The anticipated pain of that activity is preventing me from actually engaging in said hair-pulling out. When I feel like this I know the best remedy is simply to sit down and try to unwind. I wasn’t born with the relaxation gene, and try as I might, this process eludes me.

Short Stories From 10 Years Ago – April 29, 2004 – Naps should be mandatory. All companies and businesses should be required to have a nap room, fully equipped with sensible single beds, soft lighting and perhaps a sound system playing gentle, classical music. Harp or flute would be good choices.
